An Imperial dessert stout with fresh flavours from raspberries, passionfruit, and toasted coconut.

Taste: A sweet raspberry beginning builds on a chewy, burnt toffee malt backbone and hints of chocolate and roasted malts. Gentle fruity acidity then follows after from passionfruit, before leaving a smooth and creamy long lasting finish, mixed with coconut and bourbon vanilla.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: pure black in the glass but a quickly dissipating head didn't leave any lace
Aroma: raspberries, milk chocolate, subtle passion fruit and/or gooseberry-like tart and sweetness, then coconut and a touch of vanilla
Flavor: does a great job of meshing the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to tart quality; finishes dark berry to passion fruity toned with chocolate notes
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; some smoothness but also some tart acidic character nipping the tongue a little bit
Overall: for the most part, this was quite a nice impy porter I would have again.

Small pour. Appearance: almost black with a beige head. Aroma: fruity (would even say it is black currants, bot raspberries), sweet, bold. Taste: along the same lines, quite sweet, roasted malts, a bit bitter. Overall: not sure there is a good balance here, fruits and roasted malt are not working good together in this one, and I couldn't really find a coconut at all.

Dark brown, fruity, especially raspberry, and lots of chocolate. Good complexity and feels balanced. The bitter roast amd sweet berry work really well together.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very oily, but super-thin, barely one centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of molasses, soy sauce, nuts, earth, roasted malts, coffee, brown sugars, figs and some olive oil and soy sauce thrown in there as well. Full-bodied; Rich sweet nutty and roasty flavours dominate with a good coffee bite and some deep chocolate and molasses notes here with a good kick of vanilla and raspberries noticeable along with a dash of earth towards the end, but very sweet and super easy-going. Aftertaste is rich from the malts, sugars and earthy notes with a surprisingly easy-drinking package here, but the vanilla and raspberries add some complexity towards the end, in a good way, with this very nice and robust throughout. Overall, a great Imperial Stout with a good complex body throughout, nice sugars and a rich sweetness from pitted fruits, chocolate and molasses making this very enjoyable throughout and great to sample, especially in the season and while on vacation. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Williamsburg, Orlando, Florida on 29-December-2022 for US$6,99 sampled a day later in my hotel room here in Orlando, Florida on 30-December-2022.

A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light peated notes, roasted character, very nice. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with dark fruits, light licorice notes, alcohol warmth, light peated notes, very nice. On tap at Saint Bock.

Bottle. An almost black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick tan head. The aroma has a light oxidation, with roasted malts, a touch of burnt malts, licorice and alcohol notes. Feeling quite old fashioned, in a nice way. It's warming, full-bodied and sweet on the palate, with a light acidity. Roasted malts, licorice hints and some burnt notes, alcohol and a touch of blackcurrant. Lasting finish. A bit surprised I picked up blackcurrant, and not the raspberry, passionfruit and coconut added to the beer, guess the cellaring played a part here. Sure a nice one anyway. 220625

330ml bottle. Sweet, dry and roasty with some berries, coconut, hints of tart passionfruit and burnt ashy notes. A bit unbalanced and messy.
