True to the Molé recipe, we also added cacao nibs, coriander seed, cinnamon sticks and a little cumin, giving depth and different layers of flavour, that develop as the beer warms. Smoky, chocolatey and roasty on the nose, with a great complexity of tastes.
The bourbon barrel ageing adds additional vanilla depth to this wonderful Imperial stout . . .

Brownish black, good viscosity, thin edges of brown foam. Heavy smell of slightly smoky chillies, cinnamon. Not super thick mouthfeel, but smooth enough. Taste is bitter, roasty spice, lots of cumin, dark chocolate. The peppers give some heat, but no burn

330mL can, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma is full chili peppers, cumin, coriander, roasted malt, and some barrels. Flavour is rich, with cumin, spicy peppers, bourbon, roasted malt, and coriander. What a bizarre concoction — the cumin and coriander are thankfully not too prominent; though the spicy peppers are too prominent. Interesting beer but the spices don't really work for me. Good overall.

On tap at MBCC Blue Session. Pours black with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, wood, bourbon. Slick body, vanilla, roast, cocoa, wood, boozy finish, nice sweetness, very good.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large brown foamy head with light retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of bourbon and hot peppers is dominant. Taste is dominated by hot peppers notes with some bourbon and chocolate malt notes also perceptible. Some cinnamon can also be detected. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Enjoyable but a bit too hot for my taste.

Appearance is inky black, a small tan head which fades. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, woody malt, caramel, toffee, spices, cinnamon, cocoa powder, coffee, dark roasty malt. Taste- lots of chilli- fiery in the back of the throat. Liqueur chocolate, smooth roast malt, cinnamon, rich coffee, coconut and vanilla, more fiery chilli, booze. Mouthfeel not too big. A bit unbalanced, pretty good still.

Sampled at THT June. Black with tan head. Soft chilies, cumin, sweet malts, soft smoke, cinnamon, roasted chilies, dry earthy roast, vanilla, a touch of bourbon. Medium sweet, over medium bitter. Almost full bodied with almost medium chili heat. Quite nice, but a bit too much cumin and coriander. Good.

Can shared at THT June. Black with offwhite head. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, massive roast, coconut, cumin, big black and sticky with a nice chili spiciness. Full body and soft carbonation. Lovely.
