Gerardus Tripel is een krachtig, meergranen blond bier. Rijk, bovengistend met lichtzoete tonen. Kruiden en specerijen als kardemom, koriander, steranijs en kaneel geven dit bier pit.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 21 Feb 2018) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, citrus, coriander and spices. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, canned peaches, coriander and a balanced spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Uncomplicated but fairly tasty tripel. Quite nice.

At Taverne De Grenssteen, Vaals. Shared with Anke.
Pours hazy 'Tripel'-like golden with a small, foamy, white head; leaves lacing. The aroma contains yeast, spices, banana, malt, some peach or apple. It tastes light spicy bitter and light malty sweet, even very light fruity sour. Bit dry & alcoholic in the finish. Way too subtle in taste. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation (too soft for a Tripel). Just not good enough for what it aims to be.
