This amber lager was brewed with a traditional step mash process. The grist is a rich combination of German Vienna and Munich II malts that give warm notes of honey, caramel, and a fresh-baked loaf of seeded bread. Malty-sweet flavor with a crisp body and a subtle balancing bitterness.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to mug.
Appearance: dark orange close to copper color with a two finger white foamy head which settled down at a nice pace.
Aroma: caramel tones with some bready to earthy character and a light hop spice - slightly grassy and/or earthy toned
Flavor: takes the previously mentioned aromas to meld nicely into a mostly sweet tone and flanked by some bittering hops; finishes crisp, earthy and some caramel
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; very smooth along the tongue and a touch of earthy dryness
Overall: I say a nicely done festbier I would have again.

Pours clear, dark autumnal orange into a stein. White micro head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Caramel and molasses aromas. Soft with hot caramel and earthy multigrain upfront turning to dry toasted pumpernickel in the medium length finish. Better than the ratings would imply...
