Bottle thanks to Brandon. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is vanilla, wood, bourbon, and ganache chocolate. Slick body, similar flavors to nose, boozy finish, dry, very good.

From bottle to tulip. Chocolate and vanilla aromas are predominant. Pours black with small brown highlights around the corners. Light brown head fades rather quickly to a collar of small bubbles with a dusting across the top. Flavor is chocolate and the coconut comes out more here than the aroma. Fairly boozy!

Poured from a 2019 vintage, 500 ml bottle. Aroma is full of rich chocolate notes, light roast, caramel, and toffee notes. Light alcohol spice and a bit of oak and bourbon. Medium light coconut and light vanilla. Pours black with a medium large, thick, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderate lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate notes, lighter caramel, toffee and roast notes. Medium bitterness. Light alcohol spice, a bit of bourbon and faint oak. Medium light coconut and faint vanilla. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a tasty pastry stout. Lots of chocolate with light vanilla and coconut notes. A bit of bourbon notes.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours very dark brown with a fairly dark tan head. Aroma is heat, chocolate, and burnt coconut. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, burnt/toasted coconut, bourbon/vanilla. Not dry, but far from sticky. Heat is hard to notice, but can become noticeable. I think the bitterness is moderate, but nice for balance, and comes from the heat and chocolate. Wood is hard to find, but it’s present. This ale tastes really good.
