Agrarian-style lager of Franconian origin brewed with spelt—and for the first time in North America, by Schilling’s brewers—with nearly extinct strain of lager yeast just revived from the cellars of Weihenstephan in Munich. Notes of strawberry, and hay abound with a hazelnut-like dry finish.

Clear, effervescent straw body, medium but quickly thinning off-white head. Aroma nutty with a corny, grainy tanginess. Body acidic, tangy, and grainy, with a touch of dusty wood and honey.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Nice peppery hop aromas on the nose with bready malt and light citrus notes. More of the same on the palate with mineral notes and great herbal, peppery hoppy notes. Bitter, drying finish with good clean, malty body notes. Great!

Canned 10/26/21, drunk 11/11/21. Clear, brass-golden. White head slowly fades to a smattering of cover. Heavy mineral, light toast, tons of biscuit and cracker with lemon and herb on the finish from the hops. In the mouth it's hoppy, with plentiful lemon thyme, lots of cracker, biscuit and mineral to gently balance the hops. Phew, this is super hoppy though. Definitely prefer the more malt-forward Aeronaut landbier I just had. I love a hoppy lager but this one just feels borderline over-the-top. The lemon sort of sticks to the palate and the herbal/thyme character drowns out the malt somewhat. Still, very nicely attenuated and soft and malty texture with no alcohol or flaw.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear, bright gold with a small white head. Aroma of grass, berry fruits and spice. Bready malt in light support. Med body. Flavor is spice, grass, fruites de bois and bready malt. There's a sharp bite - must be hop. Excellent flavor.
