Shared 20 oz. bottle. Amber with a lasting soapy white head. Good lacing. Aroma of citrus, malt, and faint pine. Caramel, malt, citrus, pine, and alcohol flavors. Malt has the upper hand in this one. Hops flavors are there, but more in the background. Medium-bodied. A somewhat bitter finish. Decent.

Fair enough.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear amber with off-white head. Aroma of caramel; fruity. Tastes sweet with bitter finish. Not an imperial IPA, rather an American barley wine.

Bottle from Bottles N Bins in Monterey, CA. Pours copery gold with a slight transient whitish head. Aroma of cooked stone fruit and caramel. Med++ body. Flavor is lighter stone fruit, caramel, and repeat caramel. Trace of heat. That may not sound super, but it really is. It has a bunch of hard hop notes. It has a lot of malt. It has heat. It really all works together incredibly well. No skimping on ingredients here. Excellent. Get it if you can.
