A vanilla milk porter. Additions of lactose and whole vanilla bean accentuate the balance of this dark ale.

Sampled at THT April. Black with dark beige head. Thick roast, vanilla, sweet chocolate, earthy, raw cocoa beans, soft icecream notes like vanilla chocolate icecream? Nice. Solid medium sweet and medium bitter. Over medium bodied.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with opaque edges and gray head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma was a complex combination of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, vanilla and a hint of backing coffee. Flavor began with roasted malts and was joined by sweet chocolate and vanilla with the vanilla coming on quite strong in the finish. Beer went down really smooth.
