Freak of Nature. Noun. 1. An unusual, unexpected natural phenomenon. 2. An outlying, west coast style double India Pale Ale brewed with an abnormally large quantity of hops. 3. A delicately crafted, and crushable ale designed for fresh and immediate consumption. 4. A hophead vice or downfall. Ex: Though warned about its habit-forming hoppiness, they were seduced by the dank, tropical, and drinkable Freak of Nature.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is fruity and grassy hops with (wicked) weedy tones, citrus, biscuity malt, some pine, orange, tropical notes, touch of bubblegum. Flavour is sweetish with a medium bitterness. Body is medium. A bit more grassy than I expected, and could be more 'Imperial'. That being said, this is a very fine IPA.

Can pour (7/24/23) from 1897 Market, CLT airport. A golden yellow with nice head and lacing. Aroma is mild citrus, stone fruit and strong dank pine. Taste is stone fruit and mild citrus with overriding strong pine. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin for the style, smooth with moderately bitter finish. Overall. West Coaster IPA with some nuance. Well made.
