2025 edition. Sweet dark malty with rich chocolate, sticky sweet caramel, toffee and fudge like cakey malts, nice mouthfeel and body, light nutty undertones, dark chocolate malty lingering finish. Great pastry stout action.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and alcohol in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet but with a little underlying bitterness. Flavour starts with roasted malts and chocolate biscuits but a host of others come through later, ginger, cake, dark fruits and hazelnuts. All ending up with a boozy chocolate finish. This is excellent – and dangerously drinkable !

Can from Beer52. Pours black, fairly thick pour with small beige head, some retention Aroma is delightful with milk chocolate, caramel, nuts galore, background malts. I'm going to get even fatter drinking this but it will be worth it. Taste doesn't disappoint, its luscious with milk chocolate, biscuit, caramel, nuts and a moderate roasty bitterness. Medium to full bodied, smooth. Lovely jubbly.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy opaque black pour with a loose milk chocolate coloured head; aroma of hazelnut and chocolate; very sweet and chocolatey in the mouth with a rich doughy body; and some peanut butter in the finish. Jolly good, but not my kind of thing.
