Sabro is a hop we’ve been on the periphery of, but haven’t had the chance to brew with just yet. The newest hype hop finally landed in our cold store just as we were arranging a collaboration with our friends at Chamonix-based Big Mountain Brewing Co, and it seemed as if it were written in the stars to use this hop for the occasion. Paired up with a Polly’s stalwart in Citra, and named for Scott’s truly awful George Takei impression, this beer is absolutely massive on pineapple, coconut, and creamy tropical fruit flavours.

3/1/2026. Can at Polly’s Kesgrave beer share, courtesy of ITFCfan. Pour is cloudy/murky yellow beige with a modest white head. Aroma is sweet, tropical, citrus, coconut, oatmeal, golden syrup. Medium sweet, moderate bitterness and body. Smooth. Average carbonation. Well done.

Keg @ SalamaNation, Helsinki.
Poured hazy and orange in color, white head.
Tropical fruity, pineapple and pine notes in aroma and flavor. Sweet, quite delicious. Interestingly could not detect Sabro here.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Murky golden body with a thick white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange pith and lime peel. Flavour of white bread and orange. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A solid IPA.

Draught keg at Mill Hill Cask and Coffee, Enderby. Greenish yellow, cloudy with a film of white head. Mixed aroma, some white grape, gooseberry, lychee, some biscuity malt. Sweet taste, lots of tropical fruit plus a bit of lime zest, bitterness setting in later but only adding balance, never overtaking. Medium to full body with dialled-bacj yet effective carbonation. A mixed bag, a little messy but enough of what they threw against the wall has stuck.

very hazy pale yellow colour, moderate sized creamy ivory-like white head; aroma of pineapple, orange, grapefruit, some coconut, celery and biscuity notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with definite hoppy bitterness; good one

Hazy, almost murky pour with a decent white head. Aromas, of citrus, tropical fruit, malt, almost floral. Taste is similar. Well rounded - enjoyed it.

Draft, half pint. @Oflanaghans, Compostela. 15/11/2023 [#6.918 Global - #32 Wales - #2 Polly's Brew Co.] Pours murky yellow with a lasting off-white head. Aroma: lots of pineapple, grassy hops and overripe mango. Very fruity aroma. Nice. Taste: mixed tropical fruits, hop spice and citrus. Very mild Sabro, less than expected. Next one please!
