Keg at Brewdog Soho, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Pleasing dark chocolate, cherry taste/aroma. Not particularly sweet, nice Black Forest gateau vibe. Enjoyable flavoured stout.

Can from the Superette, Highgate on 8th January 2023. Rated as a novelty ale. Solid sepia black with tan foam and partial lacing. Aroma is of cherries dark chocolate and a subtle dairy note. Roasty in-mouth with intense cherry and creamy chocolate maltiness. A lasting roasty malt finish with cherry fruits.Medium bodied with an engaging texture.

On tap at Brew York Beer Hall. Black beer lasting tan head. well I have waited long times for a beer but 34 minutes I think is a record. Fruity dark cherry flavour. dark chocolate. some juiciness. not much cake. light cream. very good dark red fruit. good though. worth a 34 minute wait? nope. I liked it though.

440ml can @ Tap and Can, shared with Rod B and Mike. Black pour, good frothy beige topping. Moderately sweet chocolate-lead nose, fleeting coffee. Taste continues along similar lines, nothing really jumping out as alluding to Black Forest Gateau intentions, but nicely sweet, oily on the palate with pleasant dark malty chocolate notes, gentle carbonation. Nice.
