Vivo is a wonderfully drinkable session IPA. Modern hop flavours are layered on top of a uniquely fermented 4.9% beer. This beer is all about showcasing the Kveik yeast strain which comes from the wilderness of Norway where it has been used for decades of farmhouse brewing. The hops we used are intense, bringing an upfront classic bitterness combined with a fruit-juice like punch of flavour.

Rocky white head left a frothy cover on a hazy dark lemon coloured still body. Hoppy Tropical fruit aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with a cloying back. Tropical fruits, onion, hoppy, herbal & pithy tastes. Standard.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up via RAD Beer. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a creamy, pure white head. Nice stuff, dry and pithy, some lemon rind, grapefruit pith, moderate bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Dry finish with a hint of minerality, more pithy citrus character. Sound.

From keg at Nags Head. Half-pint shared with Finn. Spotty lacing from a stable white head. Cloudy yellow-gold body. Blossom aromas of pineapple and lemon. Unripe pineapple flavours, carefully notes of kveik beneath. Fine bitter fruity ending, mid-dry. Likable. (Great Malvern 01.02.2020).

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (15/02/2020) - golden pour with a white head. Fruity with notes of citrus fruit, some lemon, straw, yeasty linger, light malty support, light to medium body, hoppy drying finish. Some dryness but a brut ipa? not so sure :/

Keg @ Station Hotel. Pours misty yellow, fluffy white head. Soft sweet nose, soft citrus, milky yeast. Interesting kveik overall, some gentle yeast murmurs, clean, light cantaloupe.. continues to taste although whereas the Kveik normally dominates, it seems the simcoe and vic secret are also making themselves known. Not the most vibrant showcase, but pleasant and fruity all the same.

Quite hopped up, I associate the yeasty flavor with a homebrew fermentation. This one is one of the better kveik’s though. Beermoth manchester
