Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Mama Nasha. Pours clear copper with a frothy, mostly white topping. Light sweet flavour with notes of toasted biscuits, a little oily grass, caramel, grains, hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with notes of mellow caramel, toasted grains, light bitterness, nips of golden raisins. Quite so so overall.

Bottle from (and at) Lauvas Alus, Riga Not much nose. Pours a mid-amber colour with off-white head. In the mouth the initial impression is just sharpness. Then sweetness comes through with honey and caramel, but finish is sharpness again. Pretty much a standard Latvian Tumsais, but rough around the edges. Some sediment also.
