Dark red/amber colored. A large tanned creamy head. Sweet roasted aroma. Flavor is very burned with a dry roasted aftertaste. Lacks sweetness for a proper Christmas beer, but not bad. KI=6

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of dusty hops and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of metal and caramel as well as lighter notes of nuts, leading to a dry bitter and metallic finish.

Bottle. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, malt, caramel. Flavour is fruit, malt, caramel, roasted . I think the body is too weak. Still a drinkable beer.

Bottle. Pours an inviting, dark reddish brown body without any hazyness, and with a dense, but rather quickly diminishing beige head. Nice lacings. The aroma is rather boring, with caramel, pale malt and some sugary notes. I’m not sure, but I think there’s some faint vegetal aromas as well. It’s quite sticky in the mouth, medium to full bodied, with flavors of lightly roasted malt, sweetness, a little hoppy bitterness that tries to hide, but fails to do so in the finish at least. There’s also some notes of dried fruits, as well as grains. It’s far from a bad beer, but considering it being brewed for powerful Christmas dishes, I think it fails its task. (080127)
