Tart farmhouse ale with honeysuckle and fresh orange zest.

The changing season never cease to inspire those who grow, craft, and create. Looking towards spring, we source citrus fruits from the heart of winter and the first flowers after the frosts to herald the extension of the light. Spring stretches out before us, and our days grow longer, lending sunlight and joy to guide the work of our hands. Fille de Ferme is a foeder-rested, brettanomyces farmhouse ale fermented with honeysuckle and fresh orange zest. This lightly tart ale is our homage to the rustic spirit of old world Belgian-style farm beers.

0.5l bottle from #941, bought at Bierkoning I believe. It's definitely a loud one this. Fizzing loudly from a white quickly gone head. The beer itself is a cloudy looking paleish orange golden colored one. Really soda sour and inviting nose. Tart small gooseberries, some wood and lots of grapefruit peel. Smells really good for sure. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it's above average on the small bubbled carbonation. Tastes really good as well. Loaded with grapefruit peel freshness, it's citrussy and mild sour. Not as complex as I would have though, but a super lightdrinkable and refreshing one that went away quite quickly. 30.12.2016

Bottle shared at home. Gusher! Slight hazy pale golden with short lasting white head that leaves a nice film. Lots of funky Brett, lemon and pineapple. Some lactic notes, quite some herbs, white wine. Lots of typical US funky and sour notes, reminds me of some Jolly Pumpkin saisons. Light sour and barely any residual sweetness. Under medium bodied. Very nice.

This beer is a clear straw color with a medium thin white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of funky fruit, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of funky brett, citrus, oak and malt. The finish is funky with a grapefruit and peppery yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

At a tasting, many thanks, cloudy yellow color, with light orange hues, skunky mineral aroma with some fruitiness in the back and spicy hints, flavor of lemon, vanila, yeast and sewer with citrus and apple hints. Nice but should have been more sour.

Bottle. It pours a lightly hazy pale golden colored body under a small, dense, white head. The aroma has a bread yeast touch and a vague sulphur note, but it’s fruityness that dominates, with orange zest, grapefruit and some green grapes. It’s quite effervescent on the palate, dry and quite thin, with a nice sour fruityness in the flavor. Oranges, grapefruit, green grape, unripe pear, rose and some oaked white wine. Even something almost soapy, in a nice way though. The finish is of the lasting and fruity kind, with a pleasant white wine hint. Sure a fine one, quite complex too, feeling better for each sip. 161118

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear straw color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is citric, sweaty, musty, woody and funky with horse blanket note. Taste starts sour citric and light sweet grainy, following is tart vinous and funky, while mouthfeel is crisp and dry without any bitterness at finish. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Very refreshing funky weed...
