The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

Pours hazy with a thick white head. Heavily carbonated. Aroma is floral and typical of a saison. Taste invokes hints of barley and yeast. Palate includes malt, yeast, iron, and a few sporadic dark notes. Very drinkable for a saison, crisp mouthfeel, doesn’t have an overwhelming alcoholic presence.

750ml bottle from High Point. BB 07-2020. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is typical for Belgian Saison as well as taste. However, I don't like the hops they used as it adds some lagery notes to the saison. Not bad, but not mine thing.

330 ml bottle. Pours unclear dark orange, big creamy head. Banana, vanilla, clove, coriander, lemon, white bread, floral and herbal notes, orange peel. Acidic, medium dry bitterness, slightly sweet. Medium bodied, creamy texture, dry bitter finish, soft to lively carbonated. Very Belgian and delicious.

Optisch trüb, kein Schaum, Perlung medium. In der Nase mal Wein und mal Karamell. Im Trunk ebenso schwankend. Sehr malzig herb, fast schon schokoladig. Aber irgendwie zu schwer für ein Saison. Schwer auszumachen, aber äußerst interessant.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 25B-standard). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L16397B (BBF 11/2019). AROMA: medium citrus-like aroma with notes of oranges and lemons. medium-low malt sweetness with na almost neutral character (slightly bready). medium-low phenols (clove-like). hops not discernible. APPEARANCE: gold color and clear. medium white head with good retention. TASTE: medium citrus-like flavor like the aroma (oranges/lemons), with a soft and slightly bready-sweet malt background. medium-low phenols (clove). medium-high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: a very nice saison with all the style characteristics.
