Skarven er et undergjæret øl av typen Märzen LAger. Tradisjonelt ble ølet brygget i Mars måned for de Bayerske ølfestene. Maltbasen domineres av Vienna- og Caramunichmalt som gir et riktg og maltig preg og en delikat kobberfarge. Ølet har middels bitterhet med mild humlesmak. Aromatisk allround øl som anbefales spesielt. Hos oss gjæres ølet ferdig på tank og modnes der i ca 5 uker. Ølet er ufiltrert og ikke pasteurisert. Anbefalt serveringstemperatur er 7-8 grader. Inneholder byggmalt, humle, gjær og vann

On tap @ Bergen Ølfestival 2016. Pours slightly cloudy golden, with a small creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts with biscuits, and heather, as well as notes of hay. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is herbal hops, and malts with cereals, heather and light caramels.

KRS 140815. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is herbs, malt, caramel, grain. Flavour is herbs, malt, caramel, grain, dried fruits, bread. Boring beer.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 07.12.15. Pale copper amber. Small beige head. Aroma of malt and cherries. The latter was porbably not intended. Taste of malt and caramel. Still with a hint of berries in aftertaste.Low bitterness.

Gusher. Coarseish beige head. Hazy brown body with carbonation. Earthy sugary spicy aroma with buttery caramelly notes. Sweet earthy buttery caramel taste with spicy herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Sweetish roasty caramelly syrupy aftertaste with herbal earthy notes. Not bad, but a bit sweet and artificial. (0.5l bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Strømmen. Batch #2. BBF 2015-09-14, but I bought it today.)

Bottle. Almost clear in the glass, with a minimal sized off-white head. Sweetish, fruity malts, some dried fruits and a touch of dms in the aroma. The flavor is quite sweet, with dried fruits, caramel malts and a faint bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Sweet, fruity finish Rather boring this one, a beer I can’t see a need for in the Norwegian beer market. 150814

Fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, cereal, nuts, "knekk", hay. Taste is slightly dry grainy, minerals, weeds, cereal, nuts, hay, dried grain, paper. Medium bitterness, fizzy mouthfeel. Just boring.

Fra flaske på Cardinal M2 juni-15: klar rødlig kobber med kort skum. Nøytral aroma og smak, absolutt drikkbar med fin maltsmak, men jeg savner humlen. Og der stopper det. Utterly forgettable. Hva er vitsen med å være gjerrig med humlebruken?
