375ml can from the Sydney brewpub. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with lots of short-lived fizz. The aroma is big ginger. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a spicy ginger, hints of apple, sweet fake sugary palate. Medium to light bodied with lively initial carbonation. It’s perfectly drinkable but not much different to a non-alcoholic ginger beer.

375ml can from Dan Murphys, Hurstville. Hazy yellow gold colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of ginger, agave. Taste is sweetish, ginger, some agave, juicy apple hints, and warming spicy. Syrupy mouthfeel, light bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet and gingery finish. OK.

(On tap) Clear pale flinty lemon color with no head. Aroma is primarily ginger with a hint of agave. Light bodied and fizzy. Flavor is ginger and sugary sweetness, with hints of agave. Drinkable but rather like ginger beer.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Sharp fiery ginger nose. Cloudy yellow/green cider, no head, highly carbonated. Spicy, zingy taste. Aftertaste is dry apples, spicy ginger, and an undefinable something which I assume is agave. The ginger heat lingers. Reminds me of Old Jamaica ginger beer. It’s good.
