Bottle shared at THT actually July! Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, cardboard, light yeast, a hint of fruity hops, light minerals, paper, light pils malts. Under medium sweet, bitter and bodied. Nah.

Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is estery, candy, typical Belgian blond. Taste is sugar coating, esters, sweet. A bit watery mouthfeel with low carbonation. Meh.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A clear golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of mild sweet grainy malt, straw. Taste of mid sweet grainy malt, straw, spices and belgian yeast.

Clear blond colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some sweet malts and a little bit of banana. Quite sweet but still refreshing.

One of the first three beers from a new brewing initiative intended to recreate the former, once very well-known and successfull Anglo-Belge brewery in Zulte; the name "Alfred" on the label refers to Alfred Versele, who started this brewery in 1891. Bottle from the Hopduvel. Tightly 'membranous' lacing, egg-white, very dense and tightly knit head remaining completely closed for most of the time, sustained by strings of vivid fizz rising up through a cristal clear, pure, warm, 'old gold' coloured beer - looking a lot like a pale lager, which is usually the intention in this specific type of Belgian blonde ales. Aroma of white pepper, green banana, pear, cheese crust, bread crumbs, dried camomile flowers and dried dandelion leaves, straw, hints of apricot, sweetbread, grass, baker's yeast. Crisp, clean onset, apple peel and light banana hints, peachy note, but restrained in sweetness; quite vivid, minerally carbonation but acceptable for the style. Pleasantly bread crust- and rounded cereal-like malt body, some fruity notes lingering along with restrained spicy phenols, leading to a dryish finish softly but elegantly bittered by floral and hayish hops. Conceptually nothing special of course - did not expect anything innovative anyway - your typical Pilsener-imitating Belgian blonde ale, but clean, balanced and technically flawless, I must admit this is better than expected.

Pours clear blonde, rad darker than blonde, medium head, with very stable foam. Nice lacing, medium low intensity aroma. Bit fruity aromatics, very mild esthers. No phenols. Bit of white bread. Clean . Taste is sharp, medium high phenols, unexpectingly. Medium esthers. Bit peppery by the phenols ( saison yeast ??? ) Malty backbone of pale malts, hops are very mild, tad grassy. medium MF and Medium high carbo. Decent. Mild sweet ending due to the esthers. Clean.

21/XI/17 - 33cl bottle @ Horeca Expo (Ghent) - BB: n/a (2017-1919) Thanks to the brewers for today's samples and my Ghent beer posse for sharing the glasses and keeping my liver sane. :p

Clear blond beer, creamy white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: bit malty, yeast touch, some banana, fruity, marzipan. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: banana, yeast, bit sweetish, bitter touch, bit grassy. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, little fruity, some banana. Pretty plain, boring, crowd pleaser. Nothing wrong with it, brew-technically, but nothing exceptional or very nice about it either.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Clear golden colour, beige foam. Nose of citrus, very malty, sweet, hars bitterness. Bit unbalanced.
