According to some, humanity is born with a built-in urge to do bad things. In that spirit, we tried to do something good when we designed this beer, using a massive malt base to create depth and complexity with the right amount of roasted malt and caramel notes. Upon that base we layered more than twice the amount of cocoa nibs that we’ve ever used in a beer before, along with a healthy dose of vanilla. What came out of the tank is a full-on dark chocolate parade for the palate – combining accents of milk chocolate,
vanilla, and freshly roasted coffee with a deeply, rich cocoa coating for the entire mouth. Some say that we’re all born into sin, so we may as well taste the forbidden fruit while we’re here.

Can shared at Csakajó. Jet black pour with a beige head. Nose is huge chocolate punch, some booze, molasses, cocoa powder and vanilla. Taste is downright liquid chocolate with fruity and nutty hints and touches of vanilla and coffee. Immensely sweet but not cloying. Closes with a long lasting, warming finish, has a huge, creamy body and soft carbonation. Not the most complex impy around, but highly enjoyable.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Massively sweet with loads of chocolate. Sugary with vanilla, chocolate ice cream, mocha. Some alcohol. Moderate bitter. Man, that sweetness... Bit like Põhjala Pime Öö... Slow sipping, almost too much.

On tap at BrewDog Soho, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out rich roasted malt and some burnt cocoa. Flavour is very rich, with deep roasted malt, dark sugars, and some cocoa. Rich, roasty and cocoa-y. Very good.

330ml can from Battle of Bull, Cheras, Malaysia. Poured almost black in colour with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, earthy, herbal. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, herbal, chocolate, coffee, light liqourice, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl can from Alko, Helsinki. Pours very dark brown, close to black, with a tiny, tanned head. Malty aroma with plenty of chocolate, vanilla and mild caramel, dried fruits and hints of alcohol. Sweet, smooth and rather flavourful with well integrated alcohol. Warming, desserty and quite delicious.
