A very special release for us Stout Porter is a tribute to London's illustrious brewing history.

Richer and more robust than our classic Railway Porter, bursting with roast coffee and dark chocolate flavours.

Bottle. Black body under a fine, big tan head. Aroma is roasted, dark malt, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is nice, smooth roasted dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate with balanced bitterness. Nothing extraordinary or any kind of adjuncts, simply just a fine, well made stout where everything seems to be in balance. Fine body, nice aftertaste, very pleasant to drink.

Bottle. It's close to black in the glass, at least dark brown, with a nice light tan head. Roasted malts, some bonfire notes and licorice, and a touch of dark chocolate in the aroma. It's full-bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, semi-dry and with a touch of roasted malts kind of bitterness. Dark chocolate, roasted malts and a touch of charcoal in the flavor. Lasting finish. A quite pleasant and tasteful one, a bit gentle too. 201231

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Sola. ABV is 6.0%. Black colour, large tan head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee. hints of liquorice, oak and red wine. The flavour is smooth and pleasant, but still reasonably robust, with the same elements as the aroma. Moderate but noticeable bittering hops. Well balanced and enjoyable.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Almost jet black in the glass, slowly diminishing fawn-coloured head that laced well. Nicely roasted aromas, dark chocolate scent. Well blended taste character of dark bread, black chocolate, and a hint of liquorice. Lightly ashy. Roasted bitter coffee notes towards the ending. Fine depth and pleasantly balanced. One of my very best so far this year. Well crafted from this London brewery. Enjoyed while listening to the 229th edition of Transmission on NRK P13 play great music from New Order, OMD and Echo & The Bunnymen., among others. (Tromsø 22.11.2020).
