Old Salt sits on the crooked bench at tavern, smokes his old pipe, sniffs his glass and makes big gulp. And immediately he is engulfed by splashes of the waves, sea-gulls cries, sailors voices, whisper of sand of the unknown islands, he sees strained sails and feels hot kisses of beauties of faraway ports among salty touches of the ocean. Gradually illusion fades away. One more glass of “Captain Salt”, please. Think of it as of your very personal sea in the glass. WBA 2018 - Country Winner

Pours clear, medium light colored yellowblonde. Fairly large, stable white head. Scent is spiced, coriander (and quite a lot actually) very mellow maltyness beneath. Taste is mildly tart, but has a certain swetness to it. Lots of coriander (honestly, calm it down a notch) - turning it fairly soapy (and I'm not even one of those people that genetically taste coriander as soapy). Saltyness is mild, as is according to (traditional) style, but the coriander overkill really ruins the beer to me. Beyond that, it's fairly thin (as is correct), medium low carbo, gentle and mild. If better balanced, this would be quite likeable.

Schwach eingetrübte goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Salziger, hopfiger, fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich salzig, hopfig, fruchtig mit Limette oder Zitrone und Koriander. Leicht süß mit hoher Bitterkeit, leichter Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

Can @ Belgian Winter gathering 01 March 2025 – Tim’s place, thanks Eugene.
Canned 07/01/2025. Lot# 30011.

9/9/2022. Bottle shared by Matt, cheers. Pours clear pale golden with a copper tint and a few bubbles. Aroma is perfumed, floral, sour fruits, hint of herb, salty notes. Fairly sweet, minimal tart and salty edge. Light body, watery, has some fizz. Not bad but lacks something.
