Brewing a non alcohol beer to challenge the taste buds and also go well with food is a challenge. Nøgne Ø Svart/Hvit is in our opinion such a beer. Dark, flavorful and exhilarating. Diversity? Yes, please!

Bottle. A bit less dark brown than cola, with a minimal sized sønn vanished head. The aroma has lots of roasted malts and caramel, with prunes, lactose and some coffee. It's medium to full bodied and rather smooth, although the carbonation level in a strange way feels both too high and too low. Sweet but not sticky on the palate, with flavors of caramel, roasted malts, prunes and lactose. Some coffee and a hint of bonfire. Medium length finish. Not really sure about this one, there's sure nice things going on, but it feels a bit untidy, and it's sure not the best alcohol free from Nøgne Ø. 201017

330 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. 25 IBU. Very dark brown to black colour, large to moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, wort and lactose. The flavour is not too sweet, despite a little lactose sweetness. Mild roasty notes, notes of malts and chocolate. A slight fruitiness helps the drinkability. I had no problem finishing the bottle.

Thanks to Finn for sharing a 330ml bottle of this one, batch 2225. A bubbly fawn-coloured head resting over a pitch black body. Dotted spots on the glass. Moderate aromas of roasted malts, doughy. Quite sweet dark doughy flavours, hints of chocolate, liquorice, and traces of wort. Lactose backbone. Backdrop of coffee. Fine bodied for a no alcohol beer. Pretty alright. (Tromsø 27.07.2020)

Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt skum med litt farge. Blir film. Aroma av melkesjokolade. Saken som aromaen. Mere lakris etter hvert. Ble vel søt - men ut utmerket alkoholfritt øl.

0.33 l bottle from 'Drinks & Gifts', best before February 2022. Black with a medium large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of coffee, caramel, some chocolate and a touch of licorice. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter and slightly roasty taste of caramel, coffee, licorice and milk chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter, gently roasty finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice NA Stout!

Bottle. Unclear dark brown body with a fast disappearing beige head. Aroma is mild roasted malt, sweet chocolate, coffee and some vanilla. Taste is very sweet soft, dark malt, quite much coffee, some dark chocolate and hint of vanilla. Medium to thin bodied with a sweet, chocolate and coffee flavored aftertaste. Not bad but it reminds me more of iced mocha coffee than milk stout. I guess this will be more appreciated by the pastry stout/Bailys loving boys and girls.
