With their bright lights, and vintage stylings, diners are all-American staples. Of course, New York City has no shortage of 24-hour diners for its nocturnal inhabitants. Why? Because sometimes you just need a slice of cheesecake at 3 AM. Midnight Diner appears dark and roasty like a diner cup of joe, belying the same comforting sweetness, citrus and vanilla notes as that first bite of cheesecake.

Dec. 2020: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma of cheesecake (yes, really), some vinous notes too. Flavour of roast malts, mild coffee, cheesecake, cherry jelly.

Juleavslutning på Mi2 Cardinal, 21.12.20, med trygt smittevern: brunsvart med eksemplarisk skum. Lukt og smak minner om Jollycola tilsatt kirsebærsaft og marsipan. Saftig, men alt for søt for meg. Cheesecake stout - what will they think of next??

KØLF 271120. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is berries, perfume. Flavor is berries, floral, citrus, oranges, elder flower, vanilla, cheese cake. Weird beer.

Can. Dark brown body under a thin beige head. Aroma has berries with hint of floral scent perfume. Taste has a weird combination of malt, berries, cheese, biscuit and actually gives me a certain impression of cheese cake. Medium body and ends with the same taste. Sweet but not too sticky and even if it’s pretty strange it rather easy drinkable and I find in nice in smaller amounts.

Can. More or less headless, dark brown in color. Sure flowery, perfumed on the nose, sort of cheesecakey, with oatmeal, fruityness and lots of berries. It’s full to medium bodied, dried than expected, softly carbonated and with a light sourish and caramel-sweet flavor. Oatmeal biscuits, floral, cheesy notes, toffee and berries in the flavor. Lasting finish. A weird one indeed, but it mimics cheesecake in a way as well. Not a beer to drink a bottle of without company. 201127

On tap at Craft Inn, Worcester 18/9/2020. Near black in colour, with reddish undertones and a creamy, beige, head. Berry fruits, almond and vanilla, all spice, fruit cake malts and a boozy, ruch, finish. Good.

From tap at Cirkus with BHK after seeing The Personal History of David Copperfield 06.09.20. Almost ebony. Brown head. Surprisingly good aroma and taste of cheesecake, ginger cake, bitter grapefruit and pine shoots.

Mørk brunsvart med lys brunt skum. Lukter kandissukker, kanel noe blomster og sjokolade. Middels fylde. Smaker kanelsnurr, brunt sukker, noe banan ogstenfrukt.

440ml can, 7.4 % abv, 30 IBU, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Coal black body with a deep ruby glint. Patchy beige head, clingy lacing. Spiced dark malty flavours, pepper and cinnamon, mid-sweet. Vanilla malt-fruity flavours, prominent input of cinnamon and black pepper, ashy. Spiced malt-fruity ending. Something else, quite alright as a evening sipper. (Tromsø 23.07.2020).
