12 oz bottle from The Mansion. Pours a clear dark ruby red color with a small khaki head and decent retention. Fair lacing. Strong, sweet peppermint chocolate aroma. The flavor is a nice blend of dark porter, milk chocolate, and light peppermint, with none of the flavors dominating the mix. Light alcohol warmth in the finish. Not much bourbon flavor, and that's good. It's a really good Andes Creme De Menthe beer without being overly sweet. Medium-heavy body. Medium-light carbonation. Not bitter. And the 8.2% ABV is very well hidden. Delicious.

Black with a large foamy brown head that faded quickly. Dry with a Peppermint Patty presence. Long finish. Medium body.

Peppermint flavor certainly dominates; not much trace of bourbon or oak to be found. Chocolate and berry peek through underneath the mint, but this is a peppermint beer first and forward. Not bad, but a little more subtlety would be appreciated.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very clear, almost light brown or amber coloured tint to the bottom, without any real opacity at all and only a thin layer of a tan head, around two centimetres tall at most. Aroma of very strong and artificial peppermint note with a lot of roasted malt and molasses and some additional toffee notes, but the overwhelming aroma here is that of the fake peppermint, not any alcohol, malt or sugars, but the mint, in a not so great way. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong minty flavour with the fake, artificial notes the strongest by far with some molasses and roasted malt notes along with a small dash of coffee and a good deal of bitterness and some alcohol coming out near the end. Aftertaste shows the fake peppermint, still, with seemingly no relief an a dry malt quality and a good pungency from the sugars with some nuttiness towards the end, but a solid complexity throughout, aside from the fake peppermint notes. Overall, the body is quite thin and the malts/structure of this work decently well, but the fake peppermint dominates in a not-so-great way that makes this not really worth trying to find, or even to sample as a 'Christmas Beer' as it just reeks of 'trying too hard'. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Alexandria, Virginia on 29-November-2021 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-February-2022.

Pours dark brown with a very small, quickly fading head. The aroma is full of peppermint. The flavor is sweet and full of peppermint with malt coming out more as it warms. The peppermint continues to dominate the chocolate malt though. There’s a trace of bourbon but it definitely needs more.

12 ounce bottle from Stein’s Lincoln St, 12/24/21. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of bourbon, mint. Taste is mint, roast, bourbon, vanilla. Slick, kinda one-note, but not bad.

Bottle/Fest. A- Peppermint, chocolate. A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Peppermint, chocolate, medium sweetness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Let me preface by saying I hate mint chocolate as a combo. This was very strong peppermint but I quite enjoyed it. Liquid York Patty in a glass. One of the best Kentucky BB beers I've had as well. They always seem to surprise me in a good way.

Peppermint, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Dark brown with small tan head. Moderately sweet peppermint, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Very light body. Not much malt flavor - watery.
