Handpull cask at the Kings Arms, Leicester. Dark brown, mostly opaque with a thick khaki/tan head. Chocolate fudge, some dark malts, a touch of liquorice and a metallic note to the aroma so definite mixed bag there. Sweet taste, some Tootsie roll fudginess, a bit of of red grape. Light hoppy bitterness in the finish with berry notes. Soft carbonation, light to medium body. Decent.

Cask @ Pint Pot, Rochdale. Dark with a small head. Its chocolate and orange combination is evident in both aroma and taste, but is slightly more stated in the former.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy cream head. There is a very strong aroma of chocolate, but also some roasted malts can be detected. Pretty much the same in the mouth to start with, but with added flavour of dark fruits. After a while liquorice comes through strongly and dominates the bitter finish. Not a world beater, but pretty good.

Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF 2020 Winter, Iron Bridge Bar. Jet black body, steady beige head, spotty lacing. Appealing aromas of chocolate and cocoa. The taste profile follows suit with cocoa and chocolate. Smoothly roasted ending. Medium bodied. Likable. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

3rd May 2019; hand-pulled half-pint at the 46th Telford Drinks Festival at The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Dark Porter with a tanned head. As you'd expect from the name there is a big chocolate presence within the brew, both aroma and taste wise. Not overpowering though, but above subtle. Liked it. I just wise Porters had a little more body depth.
