Keg sample at Brewdog Waterloo. A dark brown black coloured pour with a whispy tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, chocolate brownie, peanut butter, marshmallow, tangy dark chocolate some jammy dark berries. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, rounded, rich dark chocolate, mellow bitter roast, hint of ash, oily. Some warming alcohol in the finish. Palate is medium sweet, oily, light tang, mellow carbonation.

Keg at brewdog merchant City. Pours black, nose is hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, taste is chocolate, creamy, nutty, roasted.

Can at home, from an online peddler, Christmas 2022 edition 23/06/23. Black with a good sized khaki head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, cookie dough, mellow roast, caramel, light booze. Taste comprises chocolate cookies, light salted caramel, dark malts, brown sugar melt, toffee, hint of coffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Decent enough easy sipping impy stout if perhaps lacking some complexity.

Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate cake, caramel, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Tap at 100 piv. Dark brown color with medium white head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, biscuit. Lovely taste of vanilla, nougat, milk chocolate, light roasted notes, caramel, cookie. Alcohol is well hidden. Excellent.

Canned (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Black colour, small beige head. Aroma is nutty, salted caramel and some slight alcohol to it. Flavour is salted fudge, some alcohol, caramel, quite strong on the nuttiness slight toast.

330ml can, Ashes to Ashes Christmas 2021 edition. Pitch black, small brown head. Aroma of salted caramel, chocolate, biscuit. Taste is extremely sweet, chocolate, salted caramel, biscuit, roast malts. Full bodied, silky smooth. It's very nice but it's literally a rebadged Zygoat with absolutely no changes to make it Christmassy in any way. The laziest/worst Christmas Stout effort I think I've ever seen from a brewery.

Growler fill from the Low Cost Beer online shop, which should be a bit of a give away. It's so nutty and sweet, and salty. Really weird. It's a bell-weather of where craft beer is going, and it's going doon the drain.
