Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Amber with an off-white head. Average condition. Hops up front - lemon ones then floral ones. Biscuits follow with a bitterish finish. A modern take on a bitter which is just ok overall.

Half-pint, cask at Flying Horse (JDW). Clear copper coloured body, filmy layer blanketing the upper part of the glass. Moderate malt-fruity aroma, hints of caramel and herbal hops. Mixed taste profile of caramel and leafy hops, lightly spiced. Distant bitter malt-fruity finish. Easy drinking. Satisfying. (Airside, Gatwick Airport 28.10.2019).

[Cask at the New Leathern Bottle, Warfield.] A pale chestnut pour with a loose cream head; sweet berry fruit aroma; biscuity body with redcurrants and other berries; then a drier finish that's slightly savoury. Rather good, slipping down easily on a spring afternoon.
