Hand-pulled pint in Montgomery's Tower (a Spoon's in Shrewsbury) on 11th April 2022. Black bodied, tanned topping. Malty and yet also hoppy, not a lot of Cherry action going on though. I quite enjoyed it actually.

Pours a very dark brown colour with a ruby tint and a small beige head. The aroma is dark cherries, roasted malts and light chocolate. A moderately sweet taste, sweet roasted dark malts, sweet black cherries, light chocolate and cakey notes with a smooth drying finish.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham. Pours almost black with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. The aroma has cherries and a pinch of vanilla. Cherries again to the fore in the mouth, plus chocolate and roast malts. Texture is creamy and overall sweet, but with hints of bitterness. The sweetness wins out in the finish. This is excellent – very moreish.

Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ Waterhouse, Manchester. Extremely dark red with a creamy off-white head. Its cherry is subtle amongst light roasted malts and is slightly sweet. It’s a good fusion.
