Batten down the hatches for this Baltic Porter, we’re about to slip anchor. All hands on deck for a payload of dark fruit. Plum and black currant mix with notes of raisin, African coffee and subtle dark chocolate.

Bottle at home. It pours jet black with a decent light tan head. The aroma is earthy roast, big umami character, ashy roast, burnt toast, salted liquorice, cacao and dark fruits. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy roast, liquorice, umami, dark fruits, plum, date, slight tang, toasted sesame and some saltiness with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent for the style.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Cloin. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy khaki head. Good stuff, some dried leathery berries, earth, a little cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warmth in the finish, more earth, soft ash, lightly tangy dark fruits. Enjoyable.
