500 ml bottle, as Backyard Hero Old English Ale, batch #2. ABV is 9.3%. Hazy reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Intense sourish aroma, notes of brettanomyces, lactic acid and oak, also sour red berries and sour unripe grapes. Moderately sour and very oaky / woody flavour, medium dry, hints of berries, honey and dark dried fruits. Dry finish. Warming throatfeel.

Bottle. Unclear reddish golden body under a small off-white head. Complex aroma of malt, mild caramel, dry fruit, sour red berries, wood and farmhouse funk. Taste like a mild, smooth version of a Flanderen red, mild, smooth malt, dry fruit, sour berries, wood, funk and nice farmhouse. Fine balanced body and long lasting funky aftertaste. Very smooth, tasty and highly enjoyable.

Bottle. A hazy pale copper colored beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Funky, woody aroma with a touch of caramel and dried fruits. Lemon, barnyard, sourish notes and some citrus. Alcohol too. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, the alcohol going straight to the brain. Quite a lot of bitterness. Dried fruits, apricot, caramel, lemony funk, some barnyard and a good dash of wood. Some tannin hints and quite a lot of alcohol. Lasting warming, fruity and malty finish. Rather intense on the alcohol this one, but there's a lot of good aromas and flavors anyway. 200709

500ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Cloudy mahogany coloured body. Off-white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Smell of malt-fruity tartness. Unbalanced taste profile of honeyed grainy malts, dough, brett, and fruity tartness. Prolonged ending. Drinkable but rather weird. (Tromsø 25.04.2019).

Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, very overripe sour fruits, weeds, old hay, bloodlike minerals, bark, oak, fruit stones, berry skin, mild vinegar, soil, brett, flowers. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish mineraly, bloodlike minerals, bark, soil, weeds, fruit stones, brett, overripe fruits, flowers, harsh grass. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Meh!
