2/10/2020. Cask at the Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Attractive pour, black with a small creamy beige head. Aroma of light roasted malt, milk chocolate, blackberry, touch of caramel and vanilla. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. A light mild with a nice fruity finish.

Cask (White Hart, Overton) - Very dark brown, almost black, in colour. Blackcurrant, raisins and some roasted notes in the aroma. Malty and slightly musty taste with notes of dark fruits, cherries and chocolate.

Half-pint, cask ale shared with Finn at Malt Shovel in Northampton. Almost jet black in the glass, dotted spots from a low beige head. Distant smell of dark chocolate. Dark bread-like malt, traces of chocolate and a vague backdrop of dark fruits. Lightly roasted ending. Nice mild. (12.02.2019).
