Svart med brunt skum. Lukter fløtekaramell, kaffe og engelsk lakrisfudge. Fyldig. Søt start, fudge, vanilje og lakris. Mer bitre og salte smaker utover. Mørk kaffe, salt lakris og noe søtlig fudge blander seg inn i avslutningen. Middels lang.

Can. Dark brown body under a small, dense beige head that fades a bit fast. Aroma of dark malt, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is sweet Malt, lactose, caramel, cocoa and a little hint of chili. Fine body and OK aftertaste. A bit straight forward but nice.

Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish boozy, dark sugar, lactose, dark malts, nuts, minerals, alcohol, bark, dusty harsh vanilla, soil, cocoa, marshmallows. Taste is sweet sour-ish boozy, dark sugar, booze, dusty harsh vanilla, minerals, bark, dark malts, lactose, marshmallows, fruit stones, soil, toast, sour coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Not my cup of coffee.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, roasted, chocolate, vanilla and cocoa finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Lovely perfect dessert this one.
Raven black pour with beige head. Pleasant intensity in the aroma. Full body and fine balanced sweetness. Mellow carbonation level. Very (dangerously) easy to drink. Chocolate, mild roast, espresso, vanilla and toffee. A bit ticker texture and would have been a superb pasty stout. Anyway really tasty and nice. Did not notice any chili.

KYGGE 220918 shared By Bergstaden. Black color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, licorice. Flavor is roasted malt, cocoa, licorice, licorice, caramel, vanilla, cocos, chili. Interesting very nice beer.

Can, shared by Bergstaden. A close to black one, topped by a dark beige head. Caramel sauce and some licorice in the aroma, with vanilla and cocoa. It's full-bodied and smooth, with less alcohol burn than expected. Brown sugar, caramel sauce, vanilla and cocoa in the flavor. The warmth has some chili burn, but there's not much flavor of the chili. Lasting finish with a good dash of vanilla, sugar and caramel sauce. Quite nice this one, as a pastry stout, but a bit simple in a way. 180922

On tap at Malt & Humle, Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger, as Hogna Imperial Sweet Stout. ABV was 11%. Black colour, beige head. Moderate sweetish aroma, vanilla, cocoa and chili. Sweet flavour, malty, vanilla, cocoa, chocolate, moderate bittering hops. Only a hint of chili.

Fra fat på Malt&Humle (Gladmat 2018): brunsvart med fint skum som varer. brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Voi, voi - dette er flytende sjokoladedessert med en raffinert chiliburn. Dessertkaffe, mørke sjokolader, moccabønner, vanilje, muscovadosukker, laktose og nevnte chili i en særdeles velsmakende kombo. Life is good. Hogna imponerer gang på gang.
