Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, toast, minerals, grass, roasted grain, hay, lactose, dark sugar, chocolate. Taste is dry roasted, weeds, burnt toast, grass, bloodlike minerals, paper, bark, roasted grain, ashes, medicine, soil. Medium bitterness, watery and harsh ashy mouthfeel. Boring.

Black as the night with a fine beige head. Good lacing. Nice intensity in the aroma. Ok body and a smooth carbonation level. Felt a bit thin after a while. Balanced sweetness. Semi dry ending. Rich coffee, chocolate and roast in the flavor. Nice one! Very easy drinkable. Well masked alcohol.

On tap at Både&. An unclear, dark brown colored beer with a dark beige to light tan colored head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and then some milk chocolate in the aroma. It's full-bodied and quite dry on the palate, with a light bitterness. Malt driven flavor though, as expected, with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Perhaps there's some sweetness that leads my thoughts to milk chocolate, but then the beer is rather dry so I'm not sure. Actually, it's too much on the dry side, but sure a fine one anyway. 180210

330 ml can, Ego Subtle Darkness Stout, from the brewery. ABV is 7.0%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of exotic woodwork. Distinctly roasty flavour, coffee and dark bitter chocolate, distinct bittering hops.
