Bottle at home. Has a clear dark mahogany color with a small beige head. Aroma of pine, leather, rye bread, earth, cardboard and wild berries. The flavour is similar with more pine, bread, leather, grassy hops and wort. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and balanced bitterness. A solid red ale where the hops are pronounced. Well balanced.

On tap at Patrick’s. A murky orange brown beer with a big creamy off-white head leaving lacing. It’s piney and resiny on the nose, with some caramel sweetness and notes of bread. It’s full bodied, quite smooth and a bit heavy on the carbonation. Rather dry. Nice bitterness in the mouth, with pine cones and resins overpowering the caramel and nutty bread. Some yeast notes too, wouldn’t mind being without them. Mostly bitter, piney finish. A decent beer but it’s sure not that one in a million IPA/IRA. 160303
