Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.03.16. Ebony. Dense, brown head. Strong aroma of coffee, pine and oak. Similar taste. Perhaps a bit too dry.

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with light brown head. Aroma of coffee, dust, esters, some dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla. Tastes slightly sweet, with fruitiness and bitter coffee finish. Thin bodied, overcarbonated. Very nice and balanced coffee, but too much esters.

330 ml bottle, batch #30, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Brewed with coffee from St.Lucia, Carmo de Minas in Brazil (cold extracted, Sørlandets Kaffebrenneri). Black colour, huge tan head that lasts "forever", making it difficult to reach the beer below. Distinct aroma of coffee, prunes, liquorice, dark chocolate. Medium dry and roasty flavour, coffee notes but not too bitter. The other elements from the aroma are still there, but just as hints. Easy drinking, pleasant beer. Thumbs up for Qvart Ølkompani on this one.

On tap at Kick. A more or less black one, topped by a small, dense, dark beige head. There’s lots of delicious coffee on the nose, borderline melange or cocoa butter cream. Some dark chocolate, roasted malts and caramel sauce. Even some grains. It’s full bodied, smooth as hell and quite dry. Coffee, dark chocolate, some caramel sauce and creamy chocolate cream in the flavor. Even a nice bitterness kicking in towards the finish. Some burnt oat. Everlasting finish with coffee and dine dark chocolate and caramel sauce. I bet I’d love some high quality vanilla ice cream to go with this. 151219

330 ml bottle. Deep brown, practically black body with a big, stable, creamy and lacing beige head. Aroma is dominated by quality coffee but also roasted malt, caramel and some dry fruit. Flavor is medium sweet, roasted malt, caramel, dry fruit and balanced bitterness. Medium body, actually surprisingly light bodied compared with the strong malt and coffee flavor. Long lasting, pleasant coffee aftertaste. A solid and well balanced coffee beer for those that appreciate good coffee flavor.
