500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. This is an upscaled commercial version of the winner beer at Norbrygg’s Christmas beer homebrew competition 2013, designed by Surrete Humle (Anders Christensen and Steinar Hamre). Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large tan head. Distinct aroma of Christmas spices and roast malts. Smooth mouthfeel. Roasty flavour, coffee and chocolate notes, followed by distinct but not overdone spices. Liquorice in the aftertaste. Very good beer.

On tap at Haand Festival. A dark brown beer, unclear, and topped by a dense, dark beige head. Lightly sourish on the nose, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and caramel sauce. It’s sweet and roasted on the palate, with a nice bitterness. Coffee, chocolate and caramel sauce, with some coffee-like sourness. Nice carbonation, quite dryish actually, with a long finish. A lovely beer that would probably be best suited for dessert, not the main course. 150529
