The Stork resisted to become a Berliner & threw out
the recipe book to create its own speciality sour
beer.
This ’Sofiiski Weisse’ is a tart, refreshing
low alcohol beer with a dash of apricots, containing
live Lactobacillus Bulgaricus.

Bottle from 100 Beers, Sofia. Shared with lovely Anja and Our K&K Igor. Very pale yellow, small off-white head. Acidity, white wine, fruity and an odd taste resembling fish (?). Very sour and puckering and this fish again. Light body, refreshing, soft to medium carbonation, light fi(ni)sh. I like it very much, except for this odd aroma.

On tap @ 5. Cameralov festival mikropivovarjev. Pours hazy straw color with thin creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of ripe fruit, lacto, some funk and a bit of sweat. Taste starts sour grainy and milky, following is fruity, a bit salty and sour vinous, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is mild bitter. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Decent Berliner but has also got some sour off-note...

Bottle shared thanks to Markoijelena. Hazy pale straw with small white head. Lemon, French herbs, light mineral, a it of fresh cheese, some chalk, sweat, light funk. Just medium sour. Light bodied. Pretty interesting stuff, though it’s quite weird and funky.

On tap at Majstor za Pivo, Belgrade as Berliner peach, this should be the one. Pours cloudy golden, almost no head. Sour, dry, fruity, citrus, some peach, lactic. Light bodied. Not bad.

Draft @ Pivo & Burger Fest Oct’16, Ljubljana. No idea if this is the version or if Kabinet has their own Berliner, also saw the first day a Peach Berliner, and then a Berliner, so no idea if both are the same. Dorée, paille, col fin blanc disparaissant vite.

On tap at Pivo & Burger Fest in Ljubljana. Poured a hazy and very pale yellow, topped with a small white head. Nice soury cellar nose. Taste follows with puckering soury feel and slight fruitiness to it. A bit of a sweet feel in the finish, but mostly pleasant sourness in the light body. Proper thirst quencher. Lovely.

Heller, erfrischend säuerlicher Antrunk. Dezent fruchtig, trocken würzig, erfrischend. Die Säure wird zum Ende nur wenig schwächer. Adstringierend. 10/11/12/11/10/11

Tap at Majstor za Pivo in Belgrade-Serbia. Apricot skin color really, a bit cloudy and a kind of no foam lowering super quick. Nose: silky notes of wine cellar, some boiled milk and apricots too. Mouth: medium carbo, milky again with hidden sour notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
