(Bottle 44 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Clear and beautiful amber colour with a dense, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of malt. Light body with notes of malt and rye bread and a lightly bitter finish. Actually quite drinkable. 251007

440 ml can. This is a low alcohol beer (practically alcohol free beer) from Norway’s biggest brewery. As a beer lover you’re almost committed to hate this kind of beer. I love beer, so I consider myself a beer lover. The problem is, I love beer so much that I never drink sodapops etc. but I cannot drink alcoholic beer all the time. Naturally I have to search for some low alcohol beers as well. Normally I prefer my beer with lots of taste and generally plenty of hops if this is according to style. The problem with a low alcohol beer is that to much malt & hops make the beer inharmonic and unpleasant, so I prefer my low alcohol beer more in the style of an easy, fresh lager with just enough malty sweetness and a hint of hops. So back to the case, I don’t hate this beer. The color is nice - dark golden with a medium white head. Smells almost like an ordinary lager. Taste is sweet, but fresh. Plenty of carbonation suits this beer. A hint of hops, well balanced. I’m a bit disappointed at the metallic aftertaste, but all together a decent drink & drive beer. If I don’t compare this beer with an alcoholic lager or pils – it’s not bad at all.

440 ml can. Brownish colour, moderate head. The usual disgusting Munkholm aroma and flavour of over-boiled vegetables. Some wet cardboard notes for good measure. Couldn’t finish it. Drainpour.

Can. Small white head on top of a dark golden beer. Aroma is of malt and grain, mostly grain. It has a thin body. The flavor is sweet and grainy, and it finishes off with an unpleasant flavor of grain and artificial hops. Another one down the drain... (060214)
