Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Gold with a creamy white head; biscuit and yeast aromas; dry bisctuit flavour with sour apple, and some zingy spice towards the end. Very average.

[gravity cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Fizzy pale gold stuff, looking like lager rather than ale. Taste is watery and fizzy, a little citrus with just a slight tingle of spice in the tail. Pretty poor fare. c3
