This beer is a light bodied, easy drinking ale. We use real raspberries late in fermentation, giving this beer a mild fruit flavor while keeping a very balanced malt profile. This may not be what some would expect from a “fruit” beer, but our brewers make good beer; not fruity, carbonated malt beverages. Our motto is, “beer first, fruit second”.

On tap at Dark Horse, pours a cloudy murky orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out rather faint, pithy raspberries, with plenty of lacto. Flavour is somewhat muffled, with pithy raspberries and lacto. The raspberry character is too muffled and it's a pretty mediocre beer in its construction. Under par for this brewery.

Keg at Craft. Orange and slightly cloudy with small white head. Aroma is lots of raspberry, grainy and wheaty, bit of flour. Taste is quite light, not as fruity as the smell suggests. Bit of strawberry in there as well as the raspberry. Fairly crisp, but something's not quite there.

Can sample at a tasting at zvsn's place. Cloudy orange, a bit artificial, berries, graininess, dust, a bit sweetish, weird green bitterness, light-bodied.

12 oz. can. Pours a cloudy reddish-amber color with a small white head and poor retention. No lacing. Indistinct nose. Grainy lager base beer flavor with a nice light raspberry fruit finish. Lightly sweet. No bitterness. As the can says, beer first and fruit second. Not great, but well done.
