Tap at St Cece’s Detroit. A bit hazy golden with no real head. Lots of pils malts and light bread, grassy, light herbal. Under medium sweet and light bitter. Almost medium bodied. Not much to it, but a good malty lager.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 8/18/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, bread, light honey/biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, bread, light honey/biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, bread, light honey/biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth crisp, and lightly grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice Czech pilsener. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering; very well done style example.

On tap. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains with a bit of biscuit and a touch of a buttery note underlying. Flavor is similar with sweet grains and biscuit backed by notes of cookie and popcorn.

2004 draught @ the brewery. Thick looking (moderately hazy, wavy) deep yellow, pale gold body, with a small white head. Aroma of lemon, light grassy hops, honey, almonds, light grains. Flavor is lightly sweet, with a good malt-influenced medium body, with light hops notes on the edges. Very easygoing beer. Lightly watery, but to style, with a ever so slight touch of yeast flavor. Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly creamy almost, with very low carbonation for the style. No stale, or adjunct flavors here. I would think this one is a premium lager. Light herbal/citrus notes mix with the honey-grain flavor on the finish.
