A crisp and refreshing IPA exploding with fresh floral hop character, named for a somewhat forgotten yet amazing hop variety named Crystal. A unique hopping program gives this beer a massive, clean bitterness and fresh hop aroma bursting with hints of citrus and fresh fruit.

22 oz bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks to my friend Ben for gifting this to me from his Chicago trip! Clear golden yellow with around 3 fingers of off-white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, lemon lime citrus, light floral notes. Tastes of tropical fruit, lemon lime citrus, stone fruit, light floral notes, not too bitter. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Medium carbonation, juicy mouthfeel. Tasty and flavorful fruit forward IPA.

Enjoyed at a friends place while playing X-Wing on a Sunday. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly floral and citrusy, smells nice. Taste is good, finish is pretty dry, nice apricot notes, light grass, nice complexities, bit of spice.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was a recent release. Pours slightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge mango, tangerine, pineapple, peach, papaya, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Outstanding aromas with huge complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big mango, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mango, tangerine, pineapple, peach, grapefruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of bright juicy citrus/tropical hops with moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Printer's Row Wine Shop, 6/3/14

Aroma: It has a light nose of fruity hops, clean, crystal malts, and some pine notes
Appearance: It pours a clear, bright orange color with a thin head and minimal lace
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet, clean malt flavor, and a mid-plus hop bitterness as well
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, it has a smooth, clean feel, and a mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a very solid beer, but at the same time, I just wanted it to be a little better. There isn't too much going on aroma-wise, and the appearance is only okay. Overall though, this beer is solid enough to get a score this high from me.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear golf with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of resinous pine and grass with some earthy grain backing as well as a hint of onion. Flavor is more mild with lots of grass, a bit of onion and light grains backing.

Sample at the HSC July 4th beer tasting. This brew pours a hazy golden color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with hops and malt in the background. Medium-bodied with a citrusy hops character and flavors of bready malt and pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a zesty citrus aftertaste. Above average overall.
