In 1880 Henry Weston first started crafting cider from the bittersweet apples grown on his farm in Much Marcle, Herefordshire.
Over many years he refined the art of Herefordshire cider making. Today, Henry Weston Vintage Cider is crafted only from apples grown in a single year’s harvest in the three counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire & Worcestershire. The cider is then slowly matured in aged oak vats to deliver a smooth and rounded cider, with exceptional character.

Aromatisch fruchtiger Antrunk, vollmundig. Angenehme Süße, geringe Karbonisierung. Vollmundig bleibend, leicht trocken. Die Süße nimmt nur langsam ab, vollmundig, harmonisch. Gut! 10/11/9/12/10/11

0,5L bottle. Pours straw with white head. The head doesn’t stay. ˇAroma is sweet, vinous, and pear. Taste is very sweet, with some tart. Overall: it’s not awful, but it’s also not really good.

Bottle from Tesco drunk on the train home. As Henry Westons Vintage Perry 2012. Sweetish pear juice flavour only slightly carbonated. Quite drinkable but a bit sweet for me.

500ml bottle from Co-Op. Taste is a little bizarre for a Herefordshire perry, with a juicy, plummy fruitiness and overly sugary pear cordial sweetness. I presume they’re aiming for a commercial market with this, which pretty much counts me out.

Bottle shared with Joes, Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Clear, almost looking like water. Weird aroma, don’t really know what to say about this. Taste sweetness, pear and a bit winey. Low to medium body and carbonation. Hmm apart from the aroma not too bad.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. This was actually much better than I had anticipated. Pours pale yellow with few bubbles for a head. Pleasant aroma of lightly dank pears. Medium sweet flavor with a mild dryness, some sugar, some funk, hints of alcohol. Medium in body with very delicate carbonation. Finishes modestly warm and dry, some booze and pears. No bad off flavors or anything. Nice.
