Better than any ameRican light lager because it has some decent body and is actually flavourful. But it is still a light lager. Fritz Bauch Hamburg

In my opinion, what I drink - HUNGARY - and is produced here does not match the original. Not worth testing. In the old days, the original was very good. Here you can see a Staropramen - Hungary - beer recorded on RateBeer, I would rate it, but it is not allowed by the site. I don’t want to pull off the original because that’s not it. Of course, I'm not saying it's not undrinkable, I just feel like there's a confusion in the force ... they went into this because I think consumption was serious here. Since I remember the original - import version, I don't feel that what they give us is suitable for testing.

Pours clear, pale blonde. Medium sized, creamy white head, with medium stability and nice lacing. Smell is pilsner malts, mild oxidative notes ( best by date is also seemingly aproaching, as it still lasts for about 2 weeks according to the label. Gues Hopt.be doesn't sell them overly fresh, got this bottle in yesterday ) Taste is very oxidative already. Paper signs start showing, and since the beer is of a more subtile style, it takes over very easely. No real signs of skunkyness, although the beer is in a green bottle. medium bitterness. Some diacetyl (allowed in style) all and all, the beer is a bit of a mess due to it's age, and seemingly warm storage.

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey, dark golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Weak, slightly bready, malty and minimally floral, hoppy aroma, hints of yeast dough. Taste is minimally sweet, bready malty with hints of yeast dough, a touch of malt spiciness, minimally floral and grassy, mildly bitter, hoppy overtones. Not overly deep but OK.

660ml bottle. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is a skunky toffee caramel malt, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry malt yeast, floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.
