This is a steam lager brewed with a touch of smoked malt. Brewed as a thirst quencher that gives fruity character with the crispness and drinkability of a lager. A beer created by the brewers as a rebellion against the hop forward beers they saw as focus of so much attention.

Keg at Beer House Club, Firenze, 25/09/16. Clear golden orange with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malts, straw, grains, grassy vibes, light citric drizzle. Taste comprises straw, splash of lemon, vanilla, crackers, grains, light melon, bready notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Par for the style, refreshing on a hot days touring but doesn’t deliver too much in terms of flavour.

Keg at beer house club. A mostly clear golden yellow coloured pour with a lasting frothy white cover. Aroma is sweet cereal grains, spicy hop, grainstore with hints of smoke. Flavour is composed of earthy lightly smoked malts, Nobel hop, spicy hop finish, sweet cereal malts, honey. Palate is semi sweet, frothy, crisp finish. Ok.

Appearance- golden, yellowy tinge, almost no head at all. Looks a bit like cider. Aroma- cereal, yeasty malt, toast, hint of honey, undertones of smoked meat, wheat beer. Taste- smoke, chewy malt, cereal, honey, soft hops, sweet-ish finish. Thin mouthfeel. Nothing special.

Tap. Italian Job, Chiswick, London. Hazy, green tinged gold. Film of messy, lasting, white head. Nose has light smoke. Sweet grain. Taste has a little grainy sweetness. Some earthy, dry bitterness. Thin mouthfeel. Grainy sweet finish. Not so good, this one.

Keg at Beavertown, thanks to MattyO. It pours lightly hazy gold with a medium white head. The nose is soft, sweet, creamy, bread, juicy tangerine, mango and candied apricot. The taste is earthy, sweetish, grassy, bread, straw, apricot and a touch of peach with a dry finish. Light – medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Has a nice fruity element to it, but overall it is a touch dull. OK.
