A multigrain Imperial Baltic Porter inspired by cheesecake - brewed with lemon zest, lactose, and vanilla.
Taste: Sweet pie crust and rich caramelised sugars join with flavours of fresh vanilla cream, coating the mouth before lashings of sweet baked lemon zest roll across the tongue. Rich dark fruits mingle with a pleasant biscuity malt character, and a creamy baked graham cracker-oat finish lingers, inviting you to just one more slice.
Appearance: Dark black with a brown head.
Nose: Freshly baked graham crackers and baked lemon come enticingly from the glass, with sweet toasted malt and freshly brewed coffee joining in, transporting you to your favourite bakery.
Malts: Pilsner zero, Munich malt, Carafa special T-2, Cookie malț, Oat malt, Golden naked oats, Cara 150, Caramel pale, Dark chocolate malt, Special B, Crystal 300, Flaked oats, Demerara sugar, Lactose

Black with a ring beige head. Aroma is chemical upfront, lactose, suntan lotion, vanilla, milk chocolate. Flavour his heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Disappointing. I’ve always loved Pohjala, in big part because they don’t normally do this kind of fake chemical tasting Omnipollo style thing.

330ml bottle, kindly shared by Finn. Black in the glass, scattered lacing from a dissipating tan-coloured head. Creamy dark malts on the nose, sweet. Vanilla chocolate flavours, biscuit and a touch of ripe lemon to the ending, sweet lactose backbone. Slightly roasted ending of mid-dry and sweet malts. Well bodied. Tasty, however, a tad too sweet in the long run. (Nerstranda, Tromsø 08,04.2021).

Delt med Rune på Nerstranda. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget tett skum. Aroma av vanilje & krydder. Smaken tørket frukt & sitron. Søt. Utmerket dessertøl.

Bottle. Pours black with a small white head. Aroma is full on lactose, vanilla, chocolate. A tad artificial, but definite cheesecake vibes. Medium body. Flavour is lactose first of all, vanilla, flavouring. Dark malts underneath, chocolate. Mmh. Too many artificial flavours here, not bad and especially the finish is nice. But I think pöhjala should rather stick to the amazing stouts they do well and leave this stuff to omnipollo and lervig.

33cl bottle at home (from Põhjala Brewery & Tap Room). Pours close to pitch black with a fairly modest, beige head. Scented candles and candy - strange, almost perfumy smell with vanilla and lemon mixed with dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and Basset's wine gum. Doesn't really work for me, feels just weird and messy. Certainly sweet and quite flavourful, not awful, but not really enjoyable either. Not my cup of tea.

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Kohalikus Selver ABC-s oli juba müügil! Õlle mekki ei ole, essentsid käivad üle, päris räigelt lääge ka. Lastele ilmselt sobiks... Tegelikult on see essentsine maitse ikka päris halb, isegi vanilje on pigem see feik suhkur kui päris asi. Drain pour :(
