Citra Galactique IPA is a beer designed to showcase three of our favorite hops. They give the beer explosive tropical fruit and citrus aromatics which are complimented by the beer’s dry finish, firm bitterness and subtle malt background.

IPA Citra Galactique 6.5% 65 IBUs pours a beautiful copper orange with a thick off-white head. A fantastic nose: pineapple, resin, herbs and maybe some papaya as well. Wow, this is incredibly bitter and very very dry. The first hit is like licking a pine tree, the hops are just assaulting my tastebuds. The sweetness and fruity character of the hops come through in the lingering aftertaste. It grows on me but that first sip was a shock. Brewed at Parisis.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and solid hoppy. Smooth fruity, bitter and slight sweet fruity impression. Crisp bitter and smooth fruity finish.

(330 ml bottle from A la Biere Comme a la Biere) Pours nearly clear orange gold with a small white head that fades to a ring with lace. Aroma of passion fruit, tangerine, slight pineapple, grapefruit zest, hop leaf, pale and light caramel malt sweetness. Palate fairly dry for an IPA, hop forward with pretty high bitterness. Some orange and grapefruit pith and zest, intense leafy hops with a bit of fresh pine and lots of resin, a little passion fruit, very light caramel notes. The finish is bitter and astringent, very pithy and resinous but not much pine. Chewy sort of hop feel that sticks to the mouth after. Medium body with fairly light carb. Definitely on the big bitter side for an IPA but not without fruit either so still fairly refreshing. Quite a good French take on an American IPA.

A golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with nice floral hops, citrus pulp, pleasant. In mouth, a smooth sweet fruity caramel malt with light floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Le Triangle.

Golden color with a white head, medium lacing and good lasting. Aroma has notes of citrus, pine and resins. Grapefruit, light tangerine and citrus in the flavor with medium maltiness provide a decent bitterness. Mild bittery in the final with notes fo citrus; fresh mouthfeel.

Bottle from La Cave à Bulles, Paris, lot 10A, bb 31.12.2013
Hazy amber color, with medium sized compact head. Very nice aroma, sweet citrus fruits, light pineapple, candy, some cream. Good malt and caramel flavor with some toffee; the hop provides first a nice lemony character, then pungent resins; long bitterness in the final, with an accent of yeasty astringency.
Fresh, a bit rough still, but very pleasant nevertheless.
