Bottle at home. Very dark brown with quite big, slightly fizzy dark beige head. Chocolate, quite malty, some vanilla, quite some sweet blackberries with a bit of sour red berry jelly, brown bread, soft licorice. Over medium sweet and under medium bitter. Almost full bodied. Somewhere in between a brown ale and an imperial stout as it lacks roast, but nevertheless quite a decent beer.

Brown black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, yeast, banana. Quite dry, rather fizzy. Finish roasted malts and dry wood.
(from 33cL bottle @ home. Thanks for sharing, Ruud!)

Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, lightly liquorice, some dark malts. Taste malts, brown malts, lightly liquorice, a bit sweetish. Can’t say I explicitly get oak or oak wood. Decent to medium body and carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Black colour with a medium sized beige to light brown head. Smells whisky, oak, sweet, roasty, perfume. Tastes sweet, roasty, whisky, cocoa. I somehow get the feeling they used whisky soaked oak chips and not a barrel. Which isn’t a bad thing. But the whisky and boozyness is kinda prominent and in your face. Full body, soft carbo.

Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB July 2019, 33 cl sample. Dark color, big frothy head. Aroma of bready and roasty dark malt, some dark and fruity roast, almost tar like, and a slight spicy and woody note. Bit sweet in taste, slight spicy, some roast and dark choc. Not bad, but it feels homebrew all over. Lacks a bit of depth and complexity.

Black with lasting head. Aroma has some sweet dark fruits and a touch of liquorice. Flavour has a nice balance of roasted bitter malts, a touch of coffee, some blackberry fruitiness and a dry finish.
